Are we back to normal?
Not quite! Although community transmission is very low and the vaccine roll out has commenced, Queenslanders still need to implement hygiene and health practices to continue to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 – think of this as the “new normal”.
Finding the balance of re-activating sport and recreation activities and keeping everyone safe is still the priority.
To find out where sport, recreation and fitness organisations are on the Roadmap to Easing Restrictions, visit the Return to Play website.
The ‘new normal’ is here, let’s work together to be COVID Safe?
So, what is the ‘new normal’? Refer below.

What’s my organisation’s role?
Organisations in Queensland are open for business, but they do have an important role to play in keeping members, participants and spectators COVID Safe. The approved COVID Safe Industry plans for sport, recreation and fitness outline your organisation’s responsibilities.
In a snapshot:
-
Comply with approved COVID Safe plan/s (Industry plan, COVID Safe checklist/plan)
-
Screen people at entrance
-
Collect contact information
-
Allow for physical distancing
-
Promote hygiene practices
-
Increase cleaning regimes
-
Check current Public Health directions.
Don’t forget to share the COVID safe message!
We should all be working together to stop the spread and keep our communities safe.
Participants, members and visitors have their own role to play when entering your premises or engaging in activities.
So, share the COVID Safe message and ask them to do their part:
- Keep well
- Keep in contact
- Keep your space
- Keep clean
