Judo Queensland Sporting Code DRAFT
Judo Queensland Board are pleased to provide a pre-final, version of the revised Judo Queensland Sporting Code for your assessment and comment prior to its final amendment and adoption.
The document has been approved in principle by the Board and it sets out a clear structure for club, regional and state level competitions and their sanctioning.
Event promoters will have the choice to operate in partnership with the Judo Queensland committees to deliver a regional level event with enhanced JQ-support or to opt for a more manageable club level event with a sanctioned competition director and association referees. Our first competitions after the shutdown will be on 23 August in Cairns and Brisbane, Lang Park and will operate according to this sport code.
Building on the the Judo Australia sport code, the Judo Queensland Sport Code now provides additional guidance on, among other things;
- The sanctioning process
- Six types of competitions offered in Queensland
- Golden Score bouts; which are time limited for club and regional level events
- A more defined set of roles for competition management
The document is lengthy however most of the content is summarised in the table in Section 4.1. for easy reference.
Thank you to the experienced individuals, events committee and referees committees for their input and to John Harvey (Vice Patron) who has project-managed the consultation and compiled the document.
Please provide your comments, if any, to:
john.harveyT4060@gmail.com by August 9th.
Following further input and editing the final will be adopted and published.
Since March, the Board, Events, Teams and Referees committees of Judo Queensland have worked to provide an improved member experience once we can fully enjoy our club and association judo activities again.
Please encourage your members to join the first competitions back, on 23 August. I hope to see you there.
Please also contact me if I can be of assistance.
Best wishes,
Paul Nelson
Judo Queensland
Chairman
