Judo Queensland Sub-Committees article New Chairs and Members
Published Thu 18 Feb 2021
Saturday 6 February 2021 was an important day for judo in Queensland.
It saw the successful culmination of the Board’s tireless efforts to implement two new Development Subcommittees. One covering Central Queensland and covering South Queensland.
All of the newly appointed members to the Central and South Queensland Subcommittees, along with the newly appointed Chairman of North Queensland Development Subcommittee, gathered at a workshop in Brisbane to meet each other, to discuss goals and guidelines, and most importantly, to identify opportunities to work collaboratively to improve and grow judo in Queensland.
Board members and representatives of JQ technical committees – Referees, Coaching, Grades and Kata – also took part in the workshop.
Everyone enthusiastically embraced the potential of these Subcommittees and immediately made the most of the opportunity to network.
Moluam Cook (Mo) was welcomed as the newly elected Chair of NQ Dev Subcommittee.
Xavier Barker, outgoing Chair of NQ Dev Committee, was able to give some insights to their activities.
Central Queensland Subcommittee is made up of Chris Neville (Chair), along with Morgan Ford and Ivan Hills.
South Queensland Subcommittee members are Robert Borchert (Chair), Boris Anson, Jeff Bouyer, Luke Stuart, Rob Close, Karine Harumi and Tim Mitchell.
Congratulations to all Development Subcommittee members and a really big thank you from the Board for your willingness to assist with the promotion of our great sport.
