LOCAL CLUB DEVELOPMENT For Judo Queensland Clubs
Published Mon 18 Nov 2024
GOALS & OBJECTIVE VISION:
Everyone has a place in Judo.
MISSION:
To assist clubs in creating safe, welcoming, inclusive and fun Judo experiences.
CONCEPT:
This program with the financial support of Judo Queensland is designed to assist Head Coaches and other Volunteers within local Judo Clubs with practical information & concepts that is being utilised in other successful Judo Clubs throughout Australia.
WHY:
Judo Queensland have sourced funding have found a way via Judo Australia to spend quality one on one time with their local clubs. Time spent assisting clubs with one on one growth plans, and challenges of running sport in the modern era. JA appreciates our member states and territories with their volunteer office bearers are hamstrung by time, and resources to spend with their local clubs to ensure they feel adequately supported. It is becoming more obvious this time is virtually impossible under the nature of volunteering.
WHAT:
Judo Australia believe that our coaches and clubs are going to be crucial, if not the most crucial resource in bringing to life the Judo in Australia Coach & Volunteer Education Plan. Led by Shane Alvisio, Judo Australia are dedicating time to assist your local clubs, one on one, to steer growth and retention aligned to the goals of the Play Well strategy.
HOW:
Shane will spend the required amount of time in Queensland to get to know each and every club or group of clubs from Gold Coast to Cairns and beyond. (clubs that wants to be involved by returning an invitation for Shane to attend)
Face to face, what everyone is now craving. 1-2 hours of one of one time on the mat, and 1-2 hours off the mat in line with their scheduled classes. To further enhance this time.
Shane can also conduct CAF courses in more remote areas which volunteers may struggle to find time to access and attend. This is about going to your clubs, not clubs coming to Judo QLD.
ABOUT SHANE ALVISIO:
Shane has a wealth of experience in coaching with over 30 years coaching at local club level. Shane's club on the NSW Central Coast has over 130 members, and he actively coaches 16 classes per week including;
3-4yrs olds,

Queensland is a large state with long distances in between many clubs. Some clubs may prefer an immediate visit during November, or December or leave it until local club training resumes in January? Remember it is never to early to plan for 2025.
