Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held VIA ZOOM at 10.00am on Sunday 10 December 2023.
(Zoom access code and password to be supplied with Final Agenda). 

Motions and nominations put forward by member Clubs need to be signed by the representatives of two separate clubs as mover and seconder. The nominee must also sign as accepting the nomination.

The nominee must also sign as accepting the nomination. Motions and nominations must be received by mail or email: secretary@judoqueensland.org.au by 4pm on Friday 24 November 2023 to be included in the final agenda.

Preliminary notice of AGM business to be conducted

1. Reports of the Management Committee and Office Bearers

2. Presenting for adoption the auditor's report and audited financial statements of the financial affairs of the Association for the last financial year to 30 June 2023.

3. Appointment of auditor.
Our current Auditor is Jason Croston of SRJ Walker Wayland (appointed 27 August 2023 following resignation of Matthew Williams) and the firm’s re-appointment is endorsed by the Management Committee

4. Election of members of the Management Committee:

1. Committee Member (for a two year term) - for position currently held by Paul de Brincat.
2. Committee Member (for a two year term) - for position currently held by Jeremy Cade.
3. Committee Member (for a two year term) - for position currently held by Karine Harumi Moromizato
4. Committee Member (for a two year term) – for position currently held by Jerome Wahl
5. Committee Member (for a one year term) - for position currently held by Mike Ewing following the
resignation of Xavier Barker

Under the Association Rule 18.1 (enacted at the 2016 AGM), the management committee shall comprise seven members elected by the AGM and who shall, if the positions are vacant, elect from among their members a President (chair) and a Treasurer. Half the elected management committee members shall retire
from office at each second AGM but are eligible, on nomination for re-election.

All members offering themselves to serve on the management committee must apply in writing, signed by the candidate and the two Association Club representatives who make the nomination. The nomination must be in the hand of the Secretary by 4pm on Friday 24 November 2023.
Candidates should also provide a brief CV setting out their skills and experiences relevant to the position.
