Sporting Schools Changes for term two  Dear Sporting Schools delivery partners,  Sport Australia is very conscious that the operating environment for schools has changed significantly and is continuing to change.   The resumption of sport and recreation activities will be a complex process. A careful stepwise process needs to be implemented to ensure the safety of participants and the wider community.  Decisions regarding the timing of resumption of sporting activity must be made in close consultation with Federal, State/Territory and Local Public Health Authorities. The priority must be to preserve public health, minimising the risk of community transmission.  The Sporting Schools program will follow the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Framework for Rebooting Sport in a COVID-19 Environment.  Consequently, for safety reasons, we have made the decision that coach delivered programs will not be offered in term two.  Sporting Schools will still be approving grants for term two but will reduce the overall grant amount to $650 for all schools.  Successful schools will be able to spend their grant on teacher delivered packages, online resources, teacher professional development and equipment in line with revised term two program parameters and terms and conditions.  Term three grants were originally scheduled to open in late May, but because of the continuing uncertainty about school operating environments, we will delay this to 15 June so we can have a better idea of the operating protocols of schools in term three, particularly in relation to the extent to which visitors (including coaches) are allowed back on-site.   If you have any questions please contact your Client Support Centre partner or feel free to contact me.  Kind regards,  Robert Bennett  Director  Sporting Schools      Leverrier Street Bruce ACT 2617 PO BOX 176 Belconnen ACT 2616     Unsubscribe
