Variety - Children's Charity looking for Clubs to deliver Sports programs
Published Mon 06 Jul 2020
Variety - the Children's Charity of QLD are looking to work with sporting clubs and organisations to deliver Sports Days to kids with mental and physical disabilities across QLD. Our aim is to get kids involved and participating in club sports in the future as a result of the sports days. Participation rates in sport or physical recreation by people with a disability is at 24% compared with a national participation rate of 65% (ABS). Variety wants to help change this percentage and increase the participation rate as this will lead to long-term health benefits for people with disabilities.
The program is called Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Days and is already being run successfully across NSW. Quick video of program here: https://vimeo.com/328295581
We are looking to establish relationships with sporting clubs across QLD and also identify any inclusive club(s) that may already exist. Is this something that you would have any further information on or would I be best to contact the QLD clubs directly?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks
